Senior Electrical Engineer - Level IV
Job Description
Senior Electrical Engineer, Level IV, onsite in Fort Worth, TX, delivers compliant, cost-efficient electrical designs while supporting product development, manufacturing, installation, and ongoing system performance.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, PCB layouts, and control panel configurations.
- Assist in electrical and control system design for automated sorting equipment.
- Redesign or substitute legacy PCB and subsystems that are no longer maintainable.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, PCB, and system-level performance issues.
- Develop and update assembly instructions, wiring documentation, and technical drawings.
- Estimate effort, manage schedules, and ensure projects stay on time and within budget.
- Adhere to quoted pricing and cost constraints.
- Identify and resolve performance, reliability, and operational challenges.
- Manage escalations of technical or operational issues.
- Provide status updates, risks, and progress reports to Engineering and Project Management teams.
- Contribute to QA and functional testing to verify system performance.
- Review and approve engineering work products, including drawings and design packages.
- Maintain revision control and engineering data through ECN/ECO procedures.
- Ensure compliance with electrical, safety, and international standards (UL, CSA, NEC, IEC, CE).
- Coordinate effectively with engineering teams and cross-functional groups including Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations.
- Provide technical feedback to support system functionality and performance decisions.
- Support field installations, commissioning, and on-site troubleshooting as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical engineering or related roles.
- Three or more years of hands-on PCB design and debugging experience.
- Experience with complex electromechanical and automated systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Familiarity with PLC-based control systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and system-level design skills.
- Experience supporting production-ready designs and manufacturing environments.
