Job Description

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Senior Electronics Design Engineer to join its Controls System Simulation team in West Lafayette, Indiana. This role centers on electronics hardware circuit design and the development of Hardware-in-the-Loop real-time simulators to test and verify engine control and monitoring systems, with a hybrid work arrangement based in West Lafayette. The salary range for this position is USD 94,160 to 153,010 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct trade studies, tolerance analyses, and a range of simulations to support design accuracy and efficiency
  • Develop and troubleshoot electrical hardware simulations of control-system sensors and actuators used within a Hardware-in-the-Loop real-time simulator to validate engine control and monitoring systems across the full product lifecycle
  • Experience designing software controls for hardware integration
  • Experience with requirements-based product decomposition, development, traceability and assurance
  • Assemble functional descriptions and design assurance test results into documentation suitable for certifying authorities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM, electronics, or electrical engineering with 2+ years of electronic hardware circuit design experience, or a Master’s degree in STEM/electronics/electrical engineering with 0+ years of hardware circuit design experience; or a PhD in STEM/Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% between sites and up to 10% for other travel
