Senior Engineer, UI/UX
Job Description
Baxter, based in Round Lake, IL, is seeking a Senior Engineer, UI/UX to design safe, intuitive interfaces for medical devices and digital health solutions within a regulated product development environment. This onsite role delivers high-fidelity designs, interaction flows, prototypes, and usability insights while partnering with R&D, Human Factors, Systems Engineering, Quality, and Software teams. The position offers a salary range of USD 96,000 to 132,000 per year and requires a bachelor’s degree in UX-related fields with at least three years of UX/Product design experience.
Responsibilities
- Create end-to-end experiences from discovery through delivery for web, touch, and embedded platforms.
- Convey design intent through whiteboarding, user stories, workflows, wireframes, and visual builds from low-fidelity prototypes to final design assets.
- Conduct competitive analyses and user research to inform design decisions.
- Collaborate with Human Factors to translate research insights into designs.
- Work with Product & Engineering to define scope and deliver solutions.
- Contribute to and apply design systems.
- Participate in reviews and iterate based on feedback.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, Visual Design, Industrial Design, Human Factors, or related field, plus 3+ years of UX/Product Design experience.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design and journey/service thinking.
- Experience collaborating with research teams such as Human Factors.
- Experience with user research, interaction design, information architecture, and usability testing.
- Ability to balance input from cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with design tools such as Figma.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Healthcare or regulated industry experience; exposure to Agile environments preferred.
