Responsibilities

  • Lead the complete commissioning lifecycle for complex projects, from design review through functional testing, integrated systems testing, and occupancy readiness.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive commissioning plans, schedules, test procedures, and integrated test matrices to verify system performance.
  • Plan, direct, and perform functional performance testing for HVAC systems, central plants, electrical distribution, emergency power, fire alarm, smoke control, and plumbing systems.

  • Conduct root cause analyses for cross-discipline system issues using field investigations, BAS trends, and testing data.
  • Document deficiencies and corrective actions clearly, distinguishing between design, construction, and operational issues.
  • Prepare accurate commissioning reports, deficiency logs, and closeout documentation aligned with Sain Engineering standards.
  • Chair commissioning meetings with owners, designers, contractors, and testing agencies to drive timely issue resolution.
  • Serve as a technical resource to clients and internal teams throughout project execution, providing guidance on commissioning methodologies.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff on sequence development, testing execution, and troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship and ability to pass required background investigations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or closely related discipline) preferred.
  • Substantial experience commissioning commercial and institutional facilities, including central plant HVAC, electrical distribution, emergency power, and integrated life safety systems.
