Senior Principal Engineer Program Lead - GhostEye Radar
Job Description
Raytheon is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer Program Lead to lead program execution for the GhostEye Program, a multi-mission medium range sensor, within the LTAMDS franchise. This onsite role in Marlborough, MA (or Tewksbury, MA) focuses on delivering system scope, budget, and schedule while coordinating cross-functional hardware development through transition to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee scope, budget, and schedule for overall development of the system, including integration of sub-products into a complete Radar Set product.
- Lead a cross-functional team spanning Engineering, Operations, Integrated Supply Chain, and Quality through hardware development and production activities.
- Apply knowledge of EVMS and Risk & Opportunity Management to guide program decisions.
- Perform program planning, budgeting, and tracking to support cost and schedule commitments.
- Manage design completion while balancing performance outcomes with the customer’s critical schedule requirements.
- Conduct regular reviews of program status, with tracking and presentations to both Engineering Leadership and Program Leadership.
- Apply extensive hardware engineering capability knowledge to ensure technical execution, partnering with chief engineers, technical leads, Operations leads, Supply Chain, and Quality.
- Lead activities supporting transition to production, including driving a design release into production.
- Maintain frequent interaction with Raytheon management stakeholders, as well as internal and external customers.
- Ensure program balance under risk conditions and constraints while advising leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Typically requires a STEM degree and minimum 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with minimum 7 years of experience.
- Minimum eight (8) years of experience in mechanical design.
- Experience leading and participating in design, development, and production activities.
- Experience preparing technical and cost proposals.
- Experience with earned value management and other program management capabilities.
- Experience presenting challenging technical issues to senior leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience with military radar, including programs and products, ideally within the LTAMDS franchise.
- Raytheon Technologies process improvement experience, including CORE and Six Sigma certification.
- Ability to collaborate across teams or independently, with flexibility and demonstrated initiative.
- Experience driving cost reduction initiatives, partnering with suppliers to reduce costs, or supporting quick closure to issues.
- Broad knowledge of project management principles.

Security Clearance Requirements
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

Compensation
USD 132,400 - 251,600 per year.

Work Model and Clearance Processing
Employees in onsite roles work primarily onsite, including production and maintenance employees that are essential to product development. This position requires security clearance, and DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
