Senior Software Engineer

Applied Research Associates offers an onsite Senior Software Engineer role in Fort Bragg, NC that centers on leading the development of OTIS-based tactical software within an agile environment. You will contribute across mobile and web platforms, geospatial and mapping capabilities, communications and situational awareness, and cloud and mesh efforts. The position requires an active Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility within 30 days and invites a collaborative, multidisciplinary team to work on mission-focused software within a secure development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead and build advanced applications that address the DoW's tactical requirements.
• Contribute effectively both independently and as part of a dynamic, cross-disciplinary team.
• Support software engineering practices including design documentation and technical specifications.
• Develop and maintain codebases to high quality standards.
• Analyze and integrate third party solutions as appropriate.
• Create test plans and perform debugging to ensure robust software.
• Oversee configuration management and release processes.
• Deliver quality solutions using a secure yet agile software development lifecycle across the following focus areas:
  • Modern mobile and web platforms
  • Geospatial and 3D mapping
  • Communication and Situational Awareness
  • Cloud and Mesh environments

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science or a related field, with at least 10 years of software development experience, including substantial recent work in one or more high-level programming languages.
• Strong ability to systematically test and debug software.
• Ability and willingness to quickly learn new domains.
• Security+ certification, or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Active Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility within 30 days of hire.
• Collaborative team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
