Job Description

This onsite Senior Software Engineer role on the Chinook Program in Gaithersburg, MD provides the opportunity to design, develop, integrate, and maintain mission-critical software for an Intelligence Community customer within an Agile environment. The position carries a pay range of $107,900 to $195,050 per year and requires active TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and complete tasks in line with the team product owner's priorities.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle within defined parameters.
  • Own the delivery of enhancements for a system or application.
  • Decompose large tasks into actionable work items and provide level-of-effort estimates.
  • Collaborate with fellow engineers to design and document optimal technical solutions.
  • Ensure the team adheres to Agile processes and best practices.
  • Build software solutions even when requirements are not fully defined, prioritizing customer needs.
  • Remove obstacles for the development team by working with the Product Owner, technical leadership, and peers.
  • Facilitate Scrum events to be constructive, productive, and timeboxed.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to pass a polygraph; US citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 8-12 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience as a Scrum Master for a software development or similar technical team.
  • Proficiency with Django, JQuery, Ajax, REST APIs, Python, Java, JavaScript, SQL, PostgreSQL, Windows, Linux, Git, and GitLab.
  • Experience with React and cloud platforms including AWS (S3, SQS, SNS, EC2, CloudFormation, RDS), IBM Cloud, Google Cloud, Azure, and Oracle Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of Model-View-Controller patterns and client-server architectures.
  • Experience incorporating GEOINT domain understanding when troubleshooting, optimizing, and validating system behavior and data outputs across environments.
  • Deep knowledge of modern software design patterns and coding standards; ability to architect, develop, and deliver complex software systems into production.
  • Working knowledge of Agile development and CI/CD methodologies and tools.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn new programming languages, tools, frameworks, and techniques.
