Job Description
Responsibilities
- Conceive and design features that span our interconnected stack, including Azure Functions, dual Web APIs, an ASP.NET MVC web application, and a customer-facing React interface served by a .NET Backend-for-Frontend that consumes the same Web APIs.
- Make AI tooling the primary implementation method, guiding AI-driven output while applying your deep architectural understanding to ensure solid results.
- Shape cross-system integration decisions, defining API contracts, BFF aggregation logic, and the division of responsibilities among Azure Functions, Web APIs, and the MVC app.
- Debug across the full stack by tracing issues from the React UI through the BFF, into the Web APIs, and down to SQL Server.
- Review code with a focus on AI-generated or AI-augmented contributions, looking for subtle defects, architectural drift, or pattern violations.
- Participate in architecture discussions and code reviews as a collaborative engineer among peers, rather than issuing directives.
- Treat AI coding tools as a daily capability, integrating them into regular development practice.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional .NET engineering experience with recent hands-on work.
- Strong knowledge of C#, .NET Core or .NET 8+, ASP.NET MVC, Web APIs, and Razor, with the ability to write these components from scratch if needed.
- Working familiarity with Entity Framework Core, including DbContext injection, LINQ, migrations, and performance best practices; able to explain DbContext registration and usage.
- SQL Server proficiency for querying, indexing, execution plans, and identifying N plus 1 problems.
- Experience with React for customer-facing applications.
- Comfort with Azure Functions or comparable serverless patterns.
- Architectural intuition across multiple related services, capable of identifying which projects require changes when evaluating a feature spec.
- Experience with AI-augmented development and enthusiasm for making AI tooling a primary implementation method.
- Ability to validate code with the same rigor as producing it, and to think through implementation end to end before drafting prompts.
Technologies
- Azure Functions, Web APIs, ASP.NET MVC, React
- .NET Core, .NET 8+, C#, Razor
- Entity Framework Core, SQL Server
- Backend-for-Frontend (BFF)
- AI tooling: Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, Codex
- Git, Azure, REST APIs
Benefits

- Bereavement leave
- 401(k) with 4% match
- Paid time off and paid holidays
- Paid sick time
- Parental leave
- Referral program
- Flexible scheduling options
This role may not be a fit if
- You do not use AI development tools daily or prefer to write every line of code yourself
- Your recent work has focused on management, strategy, or architecture without active implementation
- You cannot comfortably review a 200-line .NET pull request and identify issues, as code reviews of AI-produced material are central
- You are seeking a Staff or Principal architect role with focus on directing others rather than implementing features
- You have not worked across multiple related .NET projects such as APIs, MVC apps, serverless functions, and BFFs
- You are skeptical about AI-augmented development and its trajectory for professional engineering
