Job Description
Senior Software Engineer role building and improving a Medical Billing Automation SaaS platform that combines Python, AI/LLMs, and EDI.
Responsibilities
- Own backend development in Python, including reliable integration with AI models, LLMs, and EDI to automate complex billing workflows.
- Design and implement scalable microservices on cloud infrastructure (including AWS or Azure) for high-volume data processing.
- Build and evolve RESTful APIs and web services so internal components and external systems communicate effectively.
- Create user-facing interfaces and improve billing workflow usability using React, Angular, or similar frameworks.
- Apply system design and database modeling to develop efficient schemas using SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL, plus MongoDB when appropriate.
- Use unit testing, integration testing, and debugging practices to deliver quality software aligned with SDLC standards.
- Participate in Agile delivery using Scrum or Kanban (sprint planning, stand-ups, and continuous improvement).
Requirements
- Extensive experience with Python for backend development and AI integration.
- Strong knowledge of AI and practical application of Large Language Models (LLMs) for automation solutions.
- Proficiency with EDI standards and protocols for healthcare data exchange.
- Expert-level Python for ETL/ELT pipelines and automation, including pandas, pydantic, and SQLAlchemy.
- Production experience with a workflow orchestration platform such as Prefect, Airflow, or Dagster.
- Strong SQL skills across SQL Server and PostgreSQL, plus cloud data warehouse experience with Snowflake; familiarity with dbt or similar transformation tooling.
- Disciplined testing and delivery practices, including pytest (or equivalent), GitHub Actions (or similar CI), Docker, and Git-based code review.
- Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure and services, with Azure preferred.
- Effective, verified use of AI-assisted development tools as part of daily engineering practice.

Pay
- $130,000 - $160,000 per year (USD)
