Atlanta, GA $155k - $171k/yr Full time Posted 8d ago

Job Description

Truist Bank is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own and evolve the LoanIQ platform within its Capital Markets Technology organization. This onsite, Atlanta-based role centers on delivering hands-on engineering across the loan lifecycle—from origination through servicing, sales and trading, and settlement—while partnering with front-office, middle-office, and operations to establish technical standards and own critical components. The position offers a salary range of $155,300 to $170,800 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the architecture and delivery of high-impact software solutions within the LoanIQ domain, aligning with business objectives.
  • Apply software engineering and architectural practices, leveraging emerging technologies to design scalable, innovative solutions.
  • Lead large or complex projects, providing cross-team guidance, coaching, and training to strengthen technical capability.
  • Serve as the technical subject-matter expert for the LoanIQ application, owning design, development, configuration, and support across the platform and its integrations.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, resilient solutions supporting loan syndication, loan sales and trading, agency servicing, and related capital markets workflows.
  • Translate business requirements from trading desks, syndications, operations, and finance into robust technical solutions.
  • Lead analysis and resolution of complex production issues, including trade booking, position keeping, cash flow processing, and settlement breaks.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between LoanIQ and upstream or downstream systems such as trade capture, settlement, accounting/GL, market data, reporting, and reconciliation platforms.
  • Elevate code quality through design reviews, code reviews, automated testing, and strict adherence to SDLC and change-management controls.
  • Collaborate with vendors such as Finastra on platform upgrades, patches, and roadmap alignment.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across the team to raise overall capability.
  • Ensure solutions meet regulatory, audit, security, and data-governance requirements applicable to capital markets systems.
  • Lead end-to-end technical design and implementation of scalable, secure, and highly available software, producing patterns and examples for others to follow.
  • Contribute to architectural approaches for complex initiatives, aligning technical plans with operational targets and measurable impact.
  • Adopt and refine advanced software engineering standards, governance, and practices to improve quality and delivery across multiple teams.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, product partners, and architecture teams to shape domain technology choices and roadmaps.
  • Independently troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, delivering architecture and performance improvements that advance business goals.
  • Provide ongoing technical guidance and training, delegating work and elevating the technical bar through reviews and knowledge sharing.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, build prototypes, and contribute to new features, products, or capabilities.
  • Support the development of long-term technical goals and plans with well-reasoned recommendations and design proposals.
  • Lead large or complex initiatives that span beyond the immediate team, coordinating technical work to ensure cohesive, high-quality outcomes with limited supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong command of multiple programming languages, software architecture, and design principles.
  • Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, testing, deployment, and security practices.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) or equivalent.
