Senior/Staff Software Engineer, Customer Integrations — PCB/CAD
Job Description
Quilter AI is hiring a Senior/Staff Software Engineer to strengthen customer integrations for PCB/CAD workflows, with a focus on Python-based parsers/exporters and reliable design workflow execution.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve customer blockers by partnering with customers and GTM to reproduce failures, review design data and logs, and determine root cause.
- Fix File I/O issues and coordinate with partner teams when problems span multiple system boundaries.
- Deliver integration features and fixes by owning Python changes across design, implementation, and rollout, including parsers, exporters, and shared representations of boards, schematics, and constraints.
- Make pragmatic implementation tradeoffs and contribute through thorough code reviews.
- Verify end-to-end design workflows by converting representative customer cases into acceptance checks and regression tests.
- Ensure imported design information remains intact and that exported results work in customers’ native CAD tools.
- Turn recurring issues into stronger tooling by improving diagnostics and error messaging, automating reproductions, and building agentic investigation workflows.
- Use evaluations and feedback loops to speed up troubleshooting and improve reliability.
- Connect customers’ existing workflows to Quilter by building reusable scripts and integrations for design-data preparation and handoffs.
- Use repeated customer needs to identify product capabilities worth supporting in the shared platform.
- Work with GTM and engineering to prioritize urgent blockers and larger improvements, align on scope and commitments, and communicate findings clearly.
- Pair with customers to demonstrate fixes, and document workflows they can run independently.
Requirements
- Deep, production-level Python experience, with end-to-end ownership of maintainable software from design through testing and rollout.
- Experience working directly with customers, partners, or technical users to understand workflows, diagnose integration problems, and ship working solutions.
- Strong debugging skills across unfamiliar codebases, files, and structured data.
- Clear communication and sound judgment under time pressure, including explaining uncertainty, coordinating priorities and dependencies, and following through on immediate fixes and durable improvements.
- Practical experience with LLMs and agentic workflows, including evaluating results and improving the tools and feedback loops around them.
