Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate responses to RFIs and RFPs from satellite component vendors
  • Prepare reports and conduct launch vehicle integration studies using satellite and stack structural models to assess volumetric and dynamic environment compliance
  • Assess transmitted microvibration with structural models and transfer functions
  • Develop Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and obtain sign-off on their requirements
  • Write and supervise adherence to system structural and mechanical requirements
  • Review vendor-submitted processes, design reviews, analysis packages, and test reports
  • Support at least one additional subsystem as a key contributor, such as Configuration, RF Communications, Thermal, C&DH/Avionics, GNC, Electrical Power, etc.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, aerospace, physics, or a related field
  • 3 to 7 years of experience in space systems engineering and analysis
  • Structural dynamics experience using CAD software and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools to build and run satellite and launch-stack models, evaluate profile notching, and verify dynamic envelopes and ICD compliance
  • Mechanical design experience on a satellite or component for an aerospace program
  • Ability to review unit- and spacecraft-level acoustic, random/sine vibration, and shock test data for compliance

Pay Transparency

The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 - $132,000.00 annually.

For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
