SkillBridge - Principal or Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer
Job Description
Northrop Grumman seeks a Principal Electronics Engineer (level 3) or Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer (level 4) to participate on-site in Oklahoma City under the SkillBridge program.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, develop, integrate, and test electronic equipment across domains such as power generation, communications, flight controls, networks, radar, navigation, and weapons systems.
- Maintain complex circuitry components including analog/digital hardware, LRUs and SRUs.
- Report technical status, challenges, impacts, and mitigations to Chief Engineers, EI&E Directors, and Program Management across the project portfolio.
- Serve as Responsible Engineer, supplier technical interface, and focal Avionics representative for integration support.
- Oversee and mentor responsible and lower-level engineers to achieve technical performance objectives.
- Monitor activities across contracts to ensure development, sustainment, hardware design, and qualification activities align with program goals; support cross-functional teams during integration and verification/validation.
- Provide technical status and assessments to program leadership and customers.
- Assist with evaluating cost and schedule impacts of technical decisions.
- Ensure adherence to processes, best practices, quality standards, and policies for internal and external deliverables.
- Coordinate with engineering and program management to ensure execution of the statement of work and technical program requirements.
- Collaborate with the Technical Review Board on upcoming and current change packages.
- Support technical interchange meetings and program reviews; help resolve engineering challenges.
- Coordinate across programs and functions to drive common efficiencies and operational gains.
- Analyze complex problems and develop robust solutions.

SkillBridge Eligibility
- Has served at least 180 days on active duty
- Is within 12 months of separation or retirement
- Will receive an honorable discharge
- Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
- Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
- Has received Unit Commander written authorization and approval to participate in the SkillBridge Program prior to internship start
Requirements
- Education: PhD in STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics)
- Minimum experience: 1 year
- Location: Oklahoma City, OK (onsite)
