Software Engineer role at MANTECH in Norfolk, VA supporting the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE).

Apply systematic, disciplined, and quantifiable methods to develop, operate, and maintain software systems that support the NCTE.
Design, develop, test, debug, and implement complex software solutions to enhance or sustain the NCTE, including enabling integration of tactical systems with simulation based training interfaces.
Manage all aspects of the software lifecycle to comply with contractual, legal, and governing standards and guidelines.
Define software information and engineering requirements aligned with system complexity to meet customer needs.
Identify technical problems and implement solutions using appropriate procedures, tools, and methods across software requirements, design, construction, testing, and maintenance tasks.
Research and propose solutions using contemporary technologies aimed at improving the performance of customer solutions.
Integrate software engineering with other disciplines such as computer science, computer engineering, management, mathematics, project management, quality management, software ergonomics, and systems engineering.
Communicate complex engineering concepts effectively to diverse audiences.

High School Diploma
5+ years of relevant software engineering experience, including digital logic, circuit analysis, and embedded systems programming
5+ years of software development experience in both classified and unclassified environments, specifically related to Joint Semi-Automated Forces (JSAF) and Joint Simulation Bus (JBUS)
Experience with C/C++ and Java
Knowledge of systems design or development lifecycle (SDLC), software systems theory and engineering principles, network/systems design and implementation, virtualization, and cloud technologies
Active IAT-II level certification at a minimum in accordance with SECNAV M-5239.2 and DoD 8140/8570 (for example, CompTIA Security+)
Experience with Agile development methodologies
Experience with web development and architecture

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc
