Overview

The Software Engineer will contribute to the research, development and testing of operating system level software, compilers and network distribution software used in military computing environments. This position emphasizes designing and validating software components that operate at the system level.

Location

Crane, Indiana (onsite)

Responsibilities

Work with minimal supervision and limited management intervention.
Define operational specifications and analyze software requirements.
Design embedded software using core principles of computer science, engineering and mathematical analysis.
Complete testing of programs, document procedures and maintain user instructions for developed or modified software.
Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field is required; a master's degree is preferred.
Minimum of ten years of experience in a Software Engineering role is required.
Proven ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Intermediate to advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Effective communication with all levels of staff and external contacts; able to read, write and speak English.
Strong interpersonal skills and sound judgment; capable of working independently or as part of a team.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift 15 to 25 pounds.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Security Clearance Requirements

Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level. Current Secret clearance holders are strongly encouraged to apply. US Citizenship is required for Secret clearance at this location.
