Software Engineer
Job Description
URSA Industries is seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance software systems for autonomy and teleoperation, with an onsite presence in Reno, Nevada.
Responsibilities
- Own the services and infrastructure powering autonomy and teleoperation pipelines, covering sensor acquisition through operator interfaces and data recording
- Build and optimize ROS 2 systems to enable dependable, low-latency communication across sensors, autonomy software, and vehicle control
- Develop high-performance data pipelines to capture, transport, record, decode, and replay camera and LiDAR data
- Create operator-facing dashboards and visualization tools for live camera feeds, LiDAR point clouds, vehicle state, GPS, diagnostics, and system health
- Design infrastructure for large-scale robotics datasets and ensure the data is accessible for training, evaluation, and debugging
Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience delivering production-quality systems
- Python and/or C++ skills
- Experience with ROS 2 and robotic systems
- Experience building or operating real-time or high-throughput data pipelines
- Familiarity with robotics sensors such as LiDAR, cameras, point clouds, and video streaming
- Demonstrated ability to complete tasks and deliver outcomes
