Job Description

Rocket Companies offers an AI-native engineering environment where you can build, validate, and ship software with support from experienced peers. The role emphasizes impact through independent development, strong engineering practices, and continuous improvement. You will use AI code generation tools as a routine part of your workflow and collaborate through reviews, documentation, and demonstrations for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Location: Michigan (onsite)

Experience: 3+ years

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline

What you’ll do

  • Develop and test complex software solutions independently using established patterns and practices.
  • Release and validate software, including ongoing support as issues arise.
  • Contribute to software support, including incident resolution and blameless reviews.
  • Create reusable code modules and patterns that strengthen team consistency and delivery.
  • Use AI code generation tools daily (for example: GitHub Copilot, Anthropic Claude Code, Cursor, or similar).
  • Participate in code and design reviews.
  • Provide software documentation and demonstrations for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Assist junior peers with understanding and completing their assignments.

What you bring

  • Strong problem-solving by developing software using established patterns and practices.
  • Experience with team programming languages, frameworks, and platforms such as C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Angular, and AWS.
  • Hands-on experience using AI code generation tools such as GitHub Copilot, Anthropic Claude Code, Cursor, or similar.
  • Exposure to developing software modules or patterns for reuse.
  • Experience with integration tests, assisting with software releases, and providing ongoing support.
  • Familiarity with Agile practices and artifacts including user stories, backlog refinement, and sprint planning.
  • Experience with cloud environments or cloud provider certification.
  • Experience supporting CI/CD (continuous integration and continuous delivery).
  • Agile certification, plus experience mentoring and developing others.
  • Experience providing thought leadership to influence software development practices.

On-call expectations

  • This role may include participation in an on-call rotation to support production systems and ensure service reliability.
  • On-call responsibilities may include coverage during nights and weekends.
  • If applicable, frequency and scheduling will be determined by team needs and communicated accordingly.
