Job Description

EOS Energy Storage builds utility-scale battery power control and communication systems, and this role supports the full software lifecycle across modern hardware environments. You will design, develop, test, and maintain software that runs on RTOS, Linux, and Windows, collaborating closely with electronics, mechanical, and systems engineers as systems evolve and requirements change.

Location: Pittsburgh, PA (onsite)

Responsibilities

  • Implement software algorithms and functions as part of a cross-functional team that includes scientists and engineers.
  • Engage in understanding, defining, and negotiating requirements with internal stakeholders.
  • Review existing projects and solutions to support troubleshooting and upgrades aligned to requirements.
  • Independently develop software with efficient program logic and data manipulation following generally accepted programming standards and techniques.
  • Test and debug software using debugging tools to confirm code meets standards and all requirements.
  • Contribute to efforts to automate testing using in-house built tools.
  • Design, debug, and test simulation programs and tools.
  • Support certification testing and compliance to safety standards.
  • Document and maintain documentation for new and existing designs.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or an allied engineering discipline (required).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience.
  • 2+ years of programming experience for deployment in Linux and Windows environments.
  • Experience as a DevOps engineer handling deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Ample experience testing software developed by others.
  • Skilled in multiple programming and scripting languages, including Python and C++.
  • Working familiarity with version control.
  • Algorithm development and dynamic system mathematical modeling.
  • Software development lifecycle knowledge.
  • Software packaging for x86, x64, and Arm processors, including Docker containers and others.

Working Conditions

Office environment (onsite): Must be able to remain in a stationary position about 50% of the time and occasionally move within the office to access file cabinets and office machinery. Close visual acuity is required for tasks such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading. May be required to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
