Software Engineer - Data & Automation

Join PNC’s Data & Automation team in the Ontology organization, where you’ll help design, build, and implement Data Governance Services. This onsite role in Pittsburgh, PA combines software engineering with automation using GenAI, supporting monitoring and execution workflows while leveraging strong Python and SQL skills.

You will work as part of a team that builds and maintains production-ready systems, including the software, testing, deployment, and documentation needed to meet business needs. The position also emphasizes collaboration across design, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

What you bring

• Experience using GenAI to automate monitoring and execution
• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Experience with Angular and React for UI development
• Backend development, data analysis, and application development
• Knowledge of release management, software solutions, and application design/maintenance
• Experience supporting application testing, packaged application integration, and system development life cycle
• Technical troubleshooting and technical writing/documentation skills
• Background supporting UX design, architecture, application development tools, and process improvements
• Group problem solving and business-related focus, including customer solutions
• Typically requires a university/college degree
• 2+ years of relevant professional experience
• Bachelor’s degree

Pay transparency

Base Salary: $75,000.00 – $137,500.00 per year.

Salaries may vary by geographic location, market data, and individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible, with payment based on company, business, and/or individual performance.
