Software Engineer/Developer, Staff Principal

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through strategic solutions across Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training. In this onsite Staff Principal role in Plano, TX, you will support trainer development for DoD customers by applying simulation technologies to imagery generation, geospatial visualization, radar simulation analysis, and integration work.

As a senior technical contributor, you will collaborate with DoD Civilian personnel, USN Fleet Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), industry partners, and other contractors to plan and execute simulation-driven training capability development.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with DoD Civilians, USN Fleet SMEs, industry, and other contractors to plan and execute trainer development using simulation technologies.
• Maintain expert-level knowledge of generating Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) imagery using Boeing Multi-Mode Radar Simulation (MMRS) in conjunction with Aechelon Image Generators (IG).
• Ensure geospatial raster and vector data are correctly handled by a map server so geospatial visuals and system behavior display accurately for operators.
• Conduct analysis, diagnostics, and preliminary evaluations of RADAR simulation applications to support customer training efforts.
• Support integration activities to identify and resolve performance issues, enhancements, and defect resolution across simulation components.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 13+ years of related work experience.
• US Citizenship and a minimum of a current TOP SECRET clearance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Expert level experience in at least three of the following: Next Generation Threat System (NGTS), SAR/ISAR, Boeing MMRS, Aechelon IG.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly.

Location and Pay Transparency

• Salary range: USD $95.00/Hr. - USD $100/Hr.
• Compensation note: Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
