Job Description

Boeing Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A) is hiring a mid-level Software Engineer to build, improve, and integrate complex software systems in support of development programs. This onsite role in Annapolis Junction, MD focuses on engineering that connects software performance with real-world hardware form factors, while advancing RF signal processing capabilities and analytic tooling.

At BI&A, you will help develop and maintain software that supports processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, large-data manipulation, real-time systems, and business management information systems. You will also contribute to testing and verification against documented design requirements, including resolving software problem reports, and providing input to system software design with clear hardware and software trade-offs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems based on documented requirements, including processing-intensive analytics, algorithm development, and extremely large data set manipulation
  • Support cutting-edge development programs by designing new solutions and contributing to program execution
  • Innovate RF signal processing applications
  • Build analytics, visualization, and discovery tools
  • Integrate new and legacy software across a variety of hardware form factors
  • Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document test results; resolve software problem reports
  • Provide software component input to system design, including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and the use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) solutions in place of new development; support requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance
  • Demonstrated experience with RF signal processing applications
  • Proficiency working in Linux development environments
  • Proficiency coding in Python, C++, Java, or JavaScript

Education and Experience

  • Seven (7) years of experience as a SWE on small-scale (5-20 member) and medium-scale (20-100 member) development teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Four (4) additional years of SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may substitute for a bachelor’s degree

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Software-Defined Radio (SDR) programming
  • Experience with geospatial processing
  • Experience coding 2D and 3D image displays
  • Experience with GitLab, GitHub, or similar version control tools
  • Experience with Jira/Confluence or similar project management tools
