Job Description

Onsite in Huntsville, Alabama, this role supports propulsion program tasks, design and analysis implementation, and coordination of ballistic, thermal, and structural analyses under the program technical lead. It includes post-test examination and reporting, travel up to 10 percent, and a 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off. The position requires the ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop practical, thorough solutions to a wide range of technical challenges using established engineering methods.
  • Review, interpret, and prepare specifications and technical documents.
  • Draft technical and design requirements aligned with project objectives.
  • Stay current with relevant technologies and methodologies to support project needs.
  • Lead problem investigations and coordinate resolution across functional areas.
  • Apply and lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) processes.
  • May be assigned Earned Value Management responsibilities.
  • Travel up to 10 percent.
  • Ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance.

Requirements

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior project engineering experience; Graduate Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of prior project engineering experience; in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior project engineering experience.

The Specialist, Project Engineer role involves performing and coordinating propulsion program tasks in conjunction with program management.
