Sr. Fire Protection Engineer
Job Description
Compensation and location: USD 90,000 - 135,000 per year, on site in Adams, MA.
Responsibilities
- Develop and specify fire protection systems, including sprinkler networks, fire alarms, and suppression equipment.
- Collaborate with engineering and construction professionals to integrate fire protection into building designs.
- Maintain current knowledge of fire protection engineering advancements and apply new technologies and techniques to designs and systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is required.
- Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of five years of professional experience in fire protection engineering and design.
- Familiarity with NFPA codes and standards.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Fire Protection.
- Experience with fire modeling and simulation software.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Membership in professional organizations such as the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE).
- Thorough knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including NFPA, IBC, and OSHA.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration with engineers, contractors, and building owners.
- Commitment to delivering expert engineering solutions that enhance facility safety and security.
- Willingness to engage in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
