Sr. Power Studies Engineer - Electrical
Job Description
Sr. Power Studies Engineer (Electrical) for power system modeling and study work across industrial and transportation/aerospace/data center environments.
- Power system modeling for industrial, transportation/rail, aerospace, manufacturing, and data center projects
- Load flow studies for new and existing electrical systems
- Short circuit studies for electrical system analysis and design support
- Protective device coordination study development, refinement, and relay-related coordination work
- Arc flash hazard calculations and support for mitigation recommendations
- Harmonic studies and other power quality analyses
- Field investigations to collect electrical system data
- Coordinate with licensed electricians and project personnel to verify field conditions
- Produce detailed power system study reports and technical recommendations
- Review studies and designs for compliance with NFPA 70E, IEEE, and NEC
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal engineering teams
- Support electrical design activities including medium- and low-voltage distribution, emergency/standby power, lighting, and auxiliary systems
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
- 2+ years professional experience as an Electrical Engineer, Power Systems Engineer, or Power Studies Engineer
- At least 2 years hands-on experience with SKM PowerTools, EasyPower, or ETAP
- Experience performing power system analysis: arc flash, short circuit, load flow, and/or protective device coordination
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Experience with Bluebeam Revu or similar PDF/document management tools
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively with engineers, clients, contractors, and field personnel
- Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits
- Ability to satisfy applicable client background and site-access requirements

Salary: USD 80,000 - 145,000 per yearly
