Job Description

Themis Insight is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to join onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD, to develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems and analytics workloads. This role concentrates on processing-intensive analytics, large data sets, real-time systems, and management information systems, translating documented requirements into robust software solutions within a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build, sustain, and improve a diverse set of software systems, including analytics processing, novel algorithms, handling very large data sets, real-time platforms, and management information systems, all based on documented requirements.
  • Contribute as an individual contributor or as part of a team.
  • Review and test software components to ensure alignment with design requirements, and document the test results.
  • Address and resolve software defect reports and issues.
  • Apply appropriate software development and design methodologies suitable for the project environment.
  • Provide concrete input to system design at the software component level, including hardware/software trade-offs, opportunities for software reuse, use of COTS/GOTS in place of new development, and translating system-level requirements to software components.
  • The Software Engineer 2 will analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements, debug existing software and correct defects and provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum fourteen (14) years of experience as a software engineer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
