Staff Civil Engineer
Job Description
Pursue a Staff Civil Engineer role in West Chester, PA onsite with Pennoni, focusing on land development, stormwater design, and client-facing project management with mentoring responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the development of Land Development Plans, including engineering design drawings, technical specifications, and engineering reports from schematic design through construction.
- Coordinate permits through regulatory agencies for large scale, complex projects.
- Perform zoning interpretation and prepare feasibility studies, drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Contribute to stormwater management design, including Hydrologic and Hydraulic modeling and Erosion and Sediment Control planning.
- Apply advanced understanding of local, state, and federal ordinances and permitting processes to ensure compliance.
- Engage with regulatory agencies to advance project approvals.
- Manage all aspects of project efforts and interface with clients.
- Nurture existing client relationships and develop new clients.
- Mentor junior-level staff and provide guidance on technical work.
- Provide quality control of staff design and reports.
- Prepare proposals and track project budgets for profitability.
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering oriented discipline, preferably Civil Engineering.
- 4+ years of professional engineering experience, preferably with land development projects.

Preferred Qualifications
- FE or EIT certification.
- Experience working on land development and infrastructure improvement projects.
- Proficiency with engineering tools, including CADD and project management software; exposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam is a plus.
- Experience with stormwater management design calculations, especially using hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to see the big picture and coordinate multiple design disciplines toward project goals.

- Proven problem-solving skills across diverse projects with practical solutions.
