Job Description

Pursue a Staff Civil Engineer role in West Chester, PA onsite with Pennoni, focusing on land development, stormwater design, and client-facing project management with mentoring responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development of Land Development Plans, including engineering design drawings, technical specifications, and engineering reports from schematic design through construction.
  • Coordinate permits through regulatory agencies for large scale, complex projects.
  • Perform zoning interpretation and prepare feasibility studies, drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Contribute to stormwater management design, including Hydrologic and Hydraulic modeling and Erosion and Sediment Control planning.
  • Apply advanced understanding of local, state, and federal ordinances and permitting processes to ensure compliance.
  • Engage with regulatory agencies to advance project approvals.
  • Manage all aspects of project efforts and interface with clients.
  • Nurture existing client relationships and develop new clients.
  • Mentor junior-level staff and provide guidance on technical work.
  • Provide quality control of staff design and reports.
  • Prepare proposals and track project budgets for profitability.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering oriented discipline, preferably Civil Engineering.
  • 4+ years of professional engineering experience, preferably with land development projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • FE or EIT certification.
  • Experience working on land development and infrastructure improvement projects.
  • Proficiency with engineering tools, including CADD and project management software; exposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam is a plus.
  • Experience with stormwater management design calculations, especially using hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to see the big picture and coordinate multiple design disciplines toward project goals.
  • Consistent punctuality and attendance.
  • Strong team collaboration while able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven problem-solving skills across diverse projects with practical solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
