Job Description

Martin Energy Group Services LLC offers an onsite Structural Engineer role in Tipton, MO, centered on managing and designing the structural aspects of projects. You will work on structural steel frames, equipment support structures, skid assemblies, foundations, and load-bearing systems while ensuring adherence to building codes and industry standards. This position promotes collaboration across mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams and supports fabrication and field installation as part of a standards-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare steel structural design packages that include plans, sections, and detailing.
  • Assemble calculation packages for steel members, connections, anchorage, and lifting points.
  • Conduct finite element analyses to verify structural performance under static and dynamic loading.
  • Model and analyze structures using RISA3D.
  • Review and approve fabrication drawings for construction after thorough evaluation.
  • Coordinate structural requirements with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams.
  • Provide stamped engineering drawings and calculations when required, including reciprocity applications for applicable states.
  • Support manufacturing and field service during fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
  • Adhere to company and client engineering standards and procedures.
  • Communicate clearly with contractors and customers in verbal and written formats.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (ABET-accredited).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required with the ability to stamp drawings.
  • Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, steel design methods, and codes (IBC, AISC, ASCE).
  • Advanced proficiency in RISA3D.
  • Experience performing and interpreting finite element analysis.
  • Ability to develop comprehensive structural calculation packages.
  • Working knowledge of structural steel connection design.
  • Proficiency in reading and reviewing fabrication drawings.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal working practices and evaluation techniques.
  • Expertise with welding codes such as AWS D1.1/D1.1M.
  • Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor preferred but not required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail for complex structural systems.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive structural engineering experience.
  • Experience designing structural steel packages for industrial or commercial applications.
  • Experience stamping and sealing engineering drawings.
  • Experience coordinating with fabrication shops and field installation teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
