Job Description

Kelvion Products Inc is seeking a licensed Professional Structural Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and validation of structural components for industrial heat exchange systems at our on-site facility in Catoosa, Oklahoma. This role focuses on ensuring safety, performance, and regulatory compliance across air cooled heat exchangers and related infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Design air-cooled heat exchanger structures in accordance with ASCE, AISC, CISC, API 661 and client specifications.
  • Serve as the structural PE of record, reviewing and stamping project drawings and calculations.
  • Develop, adopt and maintain corporate and site-specific structural engineering standards.
  • Prepare design calculations and customer drawings for the above scope of work.
  • Includes performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other static and dynamic load analyses.
  • Review the structural designs and drawings produced by other Mechanical Design Engineers.
  • Coordinate with sales, customers, shop personnel and detail drafters.
  • Provide support for troubleshooting and investigating existing structures in manufacturing equipment and facilities.
  • Maintain regular attendance and on-site presence; may work overtime as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and interact respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers and executive management.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently and adapt to a fast-paced environment within the department.

Requirements

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license and certification to approve structural design; eligibility to obtain PE certification in Canadian provinces.
  • Willing to obtain licensure in additional US states and Canadian provinces as required.
  • General knowledge of welded steel fabrication practices.
  • Strong drafting skills.
  • Working knowledge of ASCE, AISC and CISC standards.
  • Proficiency with STAAD-Pro, AutoCAD, Outlook, Excel and Word.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret English-language business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations and permutations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to tasks like frequency distribution, test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a wide range of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and manage several abstract and concrete variables.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms; frequently required to stand and talk or hear; occasionally walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color and depth perception.

Work Environment
