UI/UX Lead Software Engineer
Job Description
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to support Enterprise Functions Technology with a focus on UI/UX design for enterprise workflow, dashboard, reporting, and business-facing web applications. The role emphasizes cross-team partnership across product, engineering, and business to deliver intuitive, accessible, scalable, user-centered digital experiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex technology initiatives, including efforts with companywide scope and broad impact.
- Contribute to standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex, large-scale solutions across technology engineering disciplines.
- Design, code, test, debug, and document projects and programs.
- Review and analyze large-scale solutions to support tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technology environment, and technical challenges that require evaluation of multiple factors.
- Make decisions that shape standard and companywide best practices by applying industry knowledge, evaluating new technologies, and influencing teams to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives.
- Collaborate and consult with senior technical experts, internal teams, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals.
- Lead projects or teams and serve as a peer mentor.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, and education.
- 5+ years of professional UI/UX design experience, creating intuitive, user-centered digital experiences for web and/or mobile applications.
- 2+ years hands-on experience with Figma for wireframing, prototyping, design systems, and collaborative product design.
- 2+ years experience developing or partnering on front-end applications using React and TypeScript.
- 3+ years experience conducting user research, usability testing, and translating findings into actionable improvements.
- 3+ years designing responsive web applications across devices, screen sizes, and platforms.
- Experience applying accessibility standards and best practices, including WCAG, to create inclusive digital experiences.
- Experience working in Agile and Scrum environments.
- 2+ years using AI-powered design-to-code tools (for example, translating Figma designs into DEV-ready front-end code) to accelerate workflows.
- 1+ years integrating existing RESTful APIs and backend services into front-end applications to ensure seamless, data-driven user experiences.
- Ability to bridge design and engineering by converting user-centered designs into scalable, maintainable React/TypeScript implementations.

- Experience owning the end-to-end workflow from design conception through implementation, including API integration, testing, and deployment.
- Experience working as a UX Engineer, Design Technologist, or similar hybrid role combining UX design, front-end development, and AI-assisted delivery.
