The Agentic AI Machine Learning Engineer will join Booz Allen Hamilton in Washington, DC onsite, focusing on delivering production-grade AI and ML solutions for Defense and Intelligence missions. The role involves work with large language models and intelligent agents, with an emphasis on deployment, scalability, and operationalization across diverse mission environments.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end AI systems that transform client operations, improve data accessibility, and optimize AI and ML workflows.
- Architect and scale AI/ML solutions to handle fast-moving data, align infrastructure with usage, and expand in response to evolving mission requirements.
- Ensure solutions consider the broader ecosystem and operating environment, including future functionality and enhancements.
- Advance capabilities in software engineering, machine learning operations (MLOps), and deployment and integration across various mission environments.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a ML engineer building production-grade ML solutions, including work with LLMs, agents, or complex automation frameworks.
- Experience in data science or data research settings, with training or deploying models across multiple data modalities.
- Experience with cloud platforms, including AWS or Azure.
- Experience deploying and integrating production-grade ML models using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency with Large Language Models, Deep Learning, and Reinforcement Learning, and with AI agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, PydanticAI, or llamaindex.
- Experience connecting agents to APIs, cloud platforms, or databases.
- Experience evaluating LLM performance and building observation layers for stakeholders using Grafana, Langfuse, LangSmith, or Phoenix.
- Experience assessing architectural tradeoffs and designing robust service-based software for scalable use.
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Compensation
Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including location, the individual's education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is USD 99,000.00 to 225,000.00 per year, representing the typical salary range for this role and one component of Booz Allen's total compensation.
