Job Description

Cadence Design Systems is advancing the Cadence Palladium emulator compiler, and this role supports development of a high-performance compilation platform. If you want to work on large-scale compile challenges and apply multi-threading and distributed computing approaches, this onsite San Jose position offers the opportunity to contribute to world-class emulator compiler development while building skills in performance-focused C++ engineering.

Location: San Jose, CA (onsite)
Salary: USD 119,000 to 221,000 per year (California range)
Experience: 2+ years
Education: MS in engineering, computer science or related field; or Ph.D

What you will work on

  • Contribute to development of the world’s fastest emulator compiler for the Palladium emulation platform.
  • Bring creativity and problem-solving to help address complex compilation and performance challenges.
  • Learn and/or apply multi-threading and distributed computing techniques to solve large-scale compile problems, including logic optimization, partitioning, and scheduling.

What you bring

  • MS with 2 years of experience or Ph.D in engineering, computer science or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and databases.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in C++, gdb debugging, and general software development skills.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix development.
  • Exposure to build and version-control systems.
  • Coursework in Hardware Description Language, such as Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL.
  • Exposure to electronic design platforms.

California salary range notice: The annual salary range for California is $119,000 to $221,000. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
