AMT Engineer

Based in Houston, the AMT Engineer role at AST Turbo USA Inc. focuses on delivering advanced metrology and precision measurement solutions for critical rotating equipment worldwide. This hybrid position combines on-site field work with close collaboration with our Swiss engineering team and supports expanding AMT services across North America, which includes significant travel to customer sites. The role offers a salary range of USD 90,000 to 120,000 per year and requires a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead the deployment and growth of AMT and metrology services across the U.S. organization.
• Execute laser tracking, scanning, metrology, and precision measurement services at client sites worldwide.
• Take technical ownership of field projects, including planning, coordination, execution, and direct communication with customers.
• Collaborate with Swiss engineering teams to implement standards, methodologies, and best practices.
• Assist with troubleshooting, technical problem solving, and ongoing improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent technical training, with hands-on field service experience in rotating equipment, turbomachinery, metrology, or the energy sector.
• Proficiency in interpreting technical documentation (mechanical drawings, P&IDs, specifications) and producing structured technical reports.
• Experience owning field projects, leading project execution, and interfacing directly with customers.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in CAD software and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
