Avionics Software Engineer III

This position is onsite in Endicott and supports embedded avionics software integration and verification in a lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Systems Engineer skilled in software integration and verification for embedded avionic engine and flight control systems.
• Collaborate in a team environment with on-site and near-site opportunities.
• Utilize test environment tools such as VectorCast and Green Hills (or equivalent).
• Develop software using C code or customer-based scripts and execute it in a lab environment on test simulation systems.
• Knowledge of hardware integration and debugging is preferred.
• Integrate software emulators and debuggers to control the system down to the lowest level of operation.
• Develop formal Requirements Based Test procedures.
• Place requirements, test procedures, and results in the configuration management system and trace via DOORS to meet DO-178C standards.
• Perform a mix of requirements review, software development, simulation testing, and system-level testing in an avionic lab environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 3+ years related experience
• Experience with C, Linux shell scripts, or similar software test scripts
• Experience with formal requirements and developing software test cases and procedures
• Experience with HW/SW debugging of embedded control systems
• Excellent verbal communication skills for teleconferences with suppliers, clients, and colleagues
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in team environments
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship is required
