Chief Engineer

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair all operating equipment, including pumps, motors, boilers, and chillers.
• Service electrical and refrigeration systems and related equipment.
• Paint surfaces and equipment, perform minor wall covering repairs, and touch up furnishings.
• Support hotel lighting and related hardware through routine maintenance.
• Maintain plumbing systems and associated components.
• Repair hotel appliances, equipment, and the physical plant.
• Service guest room furnishings and equipment and the building fabric.
• Replace light bulbs, fixtures, televisions and radios as needed.
• Repair and maintain the lock and key system.
• Carry out minor construction tasks as required.
• Inspect and repair kitchen and restaurant equipment and furnishings as designated.
• Plan, coordinate, and schedule maintenance projects.
• Communicate upcoming projects to the necessary departments.
• Research and gather proposals for capital projects.
• Manage purchases and maintenance within the department budget.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

Requirements

• College degree or trade school plus five years of related experience in hotel operations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Computer skills with preference for experience in Hotel information systems.
• Construction experience is recommended, but not required.
