Job Description

Worldwide Electric is seeking a senior Control Panel Design Engineer to lead the design and development of complex electrical control panels for industrial automation. This onsite role is based in Hernando, MS, and requires deep technical expertise, project leadership, mentoring of junior engineers, and ensuring designs meet regulatory standards and customer specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of advanced electrical control panels using CAD tools, including AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN.
  • Oversee the creation of detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Ensure compliance with UL 508A, NEC, IEC, and other applicable standards.
  • Serve as a technical lead on multiple projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams.
  • Identify opportunities for design optimization and cost reduction.
  • Review and approve designs created by junior engineers and provide mentorship.
  • Collaborate with fabrication, commissioning, and field service teams to ensure successful implementation.
  • Drive continuous improvement in design processes, tools, and standards.
  • Interface with customers to understand requirements and provide technical guidance.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for design related issues.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in control panel design and industrial automation.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar design platforms.
  • Strong understanding of control system architecture, wiring practices, and industrial components.
  • Proven experience with regulatory compliance and safety standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
  • Bachelor's Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (Required)
  • Electrical design: 3 years (Required)

Compensation

Hourly pay rate: $40.34 - $54.58 per hour
