Data Engineer
Job Description
Asylon is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to architect, build, and maintain real-time data streams generated by a growing fleet of robots. This role focuses on managing video, telemetry, and sensor data to enable low-latency monitoring, debugging, and machine learning model training, all from an onsite basis in Norristown, Pennsylvania. The position provides a hands-on opportunity to shape the data infrastructure that supports autonomous systems across development and operations.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize high-throughput, low-latency data pipelines using Azure cloud services and on‑prem components, specialized for streaming and time-series data.
- Ingest and process data from robot telemetry, including position, velocity, battery life, and related metrics.
- Create efficient ingestion, storage, and retrieval solutions for high-resolution video and LiDAR point cloud data.
- Provide fast, reliable data access to R&D teams to accelerate experimentation and validation.
- Collaborate with software engineers to define data formats and transmission protocols from robots to the cloud.
- Build mechanisms to handle intermittent connectivity and ensure data completeness.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on data engineering experience, with a strong focus on real-time or streaming data.
- Experience with data storage services, including cloud-based solutions such as Azure Data Lake and self-hosted deployments.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python and data query languages.
- Experience with streaming data processing frameworks.
- Experience with time-series databases.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer in Robotics, IoT, or Autonomous Systems domains (Required).

Job Overview

USD 120,000 - 160,000 per year.
