Job Description

Eaton offers a role where you can help improve reporting, analytics, and day-to-day operational decisions by building reliable enterprise data systems. This onsite position in Carol Stream, IL supports work alongside business leaders and technical teams to deliver insights through dashboards, models, and well-governed data pipelines.

As a Data Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain data solutions that enable business reporting and analytics. You will integrate data from key business systems, optimize data quality and accessibility, and support automated reporting to reduce manual effort. You will also document processes and troubleshoot data issues to ensure end users can rely on accurate information.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data solutions and database structures.
  • Perform ETL work by extracting, transforming, and loading data from SAP, Oracle, and other business systems.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models for business operations and strategic decision-making.
  • Create and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and Oracle database objects.
  • Integrate and manage data from multiple sources to support data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to identify reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and performance metrics.
  • Develop automated reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
  • Maintain data governance standards, security protocols, and data integrity across platforms.
  • Support upgrades, testing, and implementation efforts involving SAP and Oracle applications.
  • Document data processes, reporting standards, and technical specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues while providing ongoing support to end users.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with Oracle databases and SQL development (coop/internship experience accepted).
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service members are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Azure Data Services, Data Factory, or cloud-based data platforms.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
  • Experience with advanced Power BI administration.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and enterprise reporting environments.
  • Relevant certifications in Power BI, Oracle, SAP, or Data Engineering.
  • Experience with SAP data structures, reporting, and data extraction processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI (dashboard development and data modeling).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including PivotTables, Power Query, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis functions.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Compensation: USD 71,000 - 105,000 per yearly.
