Electrical Engineer
Job Description
As an Electrical Engineer at SAIC, you will support the development, testing, repair, and ongoing maintenance of advanced radar systems, with a focus on testing, analysis, and subsystem integration. This onsite role is located in Crane, Indiana, and requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
Responsibilities
- Develop test processes, procedures, and specifications in line with technical and quality standards.
- Design and fabricate test fixtures and test sets for thorough evaluation of systems and sub-systems.
- Collaborate with technicians to test and repair radar system consoles and related components.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and diagrams of Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) for clarity and completeness.
- Conduct gap analyses on available technical data to identify missing information needed for maintenance of systems, assemblies, and sub-assemblies.
- Define and document test specifications for power supplies, RF modules, and digital CCAs.
- Work closely with high-voltage power supplies, 115VAC three-phase, and 440VAC systems.
- Execute maintenance and testing procedures for radar systems, including AN/SPS-73 and AN/SPQ-9B, following approved protocols.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex issues related to radar systems and subsystems.
- Coordinate with technicians, the Task Lead, and the Branch Manager to communicate system status, repair requirements, and procedural improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
- Proven experience developing procedures for testing and repairing power supplies, RF modules, and CCAs.
- Hands-on proficiency in radar system repair and maintenance, specifically for AN/SPS-73 and/or AN/SPQ-9B systems.
- Strong electronics knowledge with the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
- Experience testing high-voltage power supplies and systems at 115VAC three-phase and 440VAC.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and leadership.
