Embedded Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality embedded applications that enable the F-35 to operate safely and effectively.
• Design, implement, and test C++ embedded software for the Vehicle Management Computer within an Agile workflow.
• Apply object oriented programming principles and safety critical development standards throughout the lifecycle.
• Perform unit testing using the LDRA tool and maintain required coverage and traceability.
• Collaborate with cross functional engineers, participate in Scrum ceremonies, and contribute to continuous integration pipelines.
• Ensure compliance with configuration management, documentation, and certification requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Experience with object oriented programming language (C++) and object oriented design techniques
• Experience with embedded software systems
• Experience with safety critical software development processes (eg DO-178C)
• LDRA C++ unit testing skills are highly desirable
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab or Bitbucket and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Green Hills software development tools
• Experience with the Rhapsody design tool
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies
• Experience with requirements based CSCI testing
• Knowledge of Python
• Strong work ethic and self motivation
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
• U.S. citizenship is required

Work Schedules

• 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
• Lockheed Martin supports additional flexible schedules ranging from standard 40 hours over five days to condensed options
