Embedded Software Engineer

Leoforce is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer for an onsite role in Irvine, CA, with a yearly salary between USD 145,000 and 190,000.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and validate embedded software systems to meet robustness, reliability, and safety standards.
• Engage in all stages of the software development lifecycle, from requirements through maintenance.
• Leverage Yocto, Embedded Linux, microprocessors, and cryptography theory to deliver innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software specifications and requirements.
• Contribute to code and design reviews to uphold high development standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and related technical challenges.
• Write clear, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and apply them to operations and projects.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to fellow developers and engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of embedded software development experience.
• Proficiency with Yocto, Embedded Linux, microprocessors, and cryptography theory.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Solid knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces, and hardware subsystems.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to read schematics and component data sheets with ease.
• Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with limited supervision.
