Embedded Software Engineer

Join Tata Technologies in Mossville, IL (onsite) and work on embedded device software that moves from requirements through production and commercial deployment. This role supports product lines end-to-end and includes analysis and review responsibilities that help improve system outcomes. The position offers an hourly rate of USD 42 to 45, along with health insurance and paid time off.

What you will do

• Design and implement embedded device and system software, taking work from requirements to production and commercial deployment for product lines.
• Define database specifications by writing and coding logical and physical database descriptions, including specifying database identifiers for the database management system or directing others in coding descriptions.
• Evaluate and improve system resource efficiency, stability, and scalability.
• Review project requests that describe database user needs, and estimate the time and cost required to complete the work.

Key skills and experience

• Strong verbal and written communication with problem solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read schematics and data sheets for components.
• Basic knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, from business or systems analysis and requirements gathering through functional specification authoring, then development, testing, and delivery.
• Basic troubleshooting ability to make system changes as needed, along with basic understanding of computer hardware and software.
• Solid programming experience with C or C++.
• Knowledge of computer development software used with embedded systems, such as SQL and VisualBasic.

Education and requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a relevant field (required).
• Minimum experience: 5 years (listed as 5-7 years experience required).
