Embedded Software Engineer II

CNH Industrial is building embedded software for Linux-based systems that support real-world agriculture and construction workflows. In this Embedded Software Engineer II role, you will design, develop, and evaluate C++ applications for Linux touch screen systems from concept through production, working with a team that values continuous improvement.

The position is based in Sioux Falls, SD with a hybrid working model, and includes responsibilities spanning coding, testing, defect resolution, maintenance, end-user support, and technical reporting. Salary for the role is USD 86,625 - 132,825 per year, plus any applicable bonus.

Job Purpose

• Design, develop, and evaluate C++ software for Linux-based systems from concept through the production stage.
• Work as part of a highly innovative team focused on delivering applications for Linux touch screen environments.

Responsibilities

• Create software applications and systems aligned with business requirements.
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented code and test software to meet quality standards.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve software defects and issues.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including project managers, designers, and QA engineers, to ensure software meets business needs.
• Maintain and update existing software applications and systems.
• Support end users through software troubleshooting and training.
• Prepare and present technical reports and recommendations on projects.
• Participate in department improvement activities.
• Demonstrate support for company culture in daily actions.
• May be asked to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.
• Learn, understand, continuously improve, and promote the quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Master’s + Internship).
• Developed expertise in technical skills, proficiencies, and knowledge in the field of support.
• Well-developed problem analysis and problem-solving techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with C++ (14 / 17), including knowledge of threading.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming is required.
• Ability to apply design theory and methodology.
• Proficiency with Linux Operating System, GIT, and Jira is preferred.
• Continued education and/or seeking mentorship to further develop professional skills.
• Specific skills, proficiencies, and knowledge in a field related to the position, as identified by department leadership.
• Prior experience in Agriculture and/or Agricultural Guidance Application Development is preferred.
• Team player with self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.
• Travel may be necessary based on the position.
• U.S. Citizenship may be required based on the position.

Compensation and Pay Transparency
