Embedded Software Engineer – Mid-Level, Onsite

Excelion Partners is hiring a mid-level Embedded Software Engineer to support the development, testing, and validation of mission-critical embedded software for advanced power, control, and electromechanical systems. This is a full-time, onsite position based in Parsippany, NJ.

Role Responsibilities

• Support the development, testing, and validation of mission-critical embedded software for advanced power, control, and electromechanical systems.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, and test engineering teams to design, implement, maintain, and verify embedded software solutions in a highly regulated environment.
• Perform requirements analysis.
• Conduct software architecture and design activities.
• Write code, debug, and test embedded software solutions.
• Manage configuration using established configuration management practices.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Perform system validation across the full software development lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

• 2 to 7+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in C for embedded applications.
• Knowledge of microcontrollers and DSPs.
• Experience using JTAG/emulator-based debugging tools.
• Experience working with version control systems.
• Familiarity with coding standards, static analysis tools, and code optimization, along with quality-focused development practices.
• Software architecture and design experience.
• Embedded systems debugging experience.
• Software verification and validation (V&V).
• Familiarity with Formal Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes.
• Technical documentation development experience.

Preferred Technologies

Experience with any of the following is beneficial: C++, C#, or Python, along with tooling and practices related to embedded development and verification. Relevant technologies include microcontrollers, DSPs, JTAG, emulator-based debugging tools, version control systems, and static analysis tools.

Compensation and Schedule

The estimated salary range for this full-time onsite role is USD 87,500 - 125,000 per year.
