Energy Application Engineer

Stark Tech seeks an Energy Application Engineer to work on-site in Buffalo, NY. The role centers on commissioning and testing customized web-based energy and building equipment applications, monitoring HVAC automation, and analyzing performance to reduce energy waste. You will integrate mechanical and electrical systems with data acquisition and analytics platforms while leading R&D, troubleshooting, site surveys, QA testing, and mentoring fellow engineers.

Responsibilities

• Commission and test customized web-based energy and building equipment applications using energy monitoring and optimization platforms
• Monitor HVAC automation systems to ensure optimal performance
• Analyze performance data to identify and reduce energy waste
• Optimize fault detection and diagnostics capabilities
• Integrate mechanical and electrical systems with the company’s data acquisition and analytics software
• Spearhead research and development initiatives
• Enhance and expand system capabilities
• Troubleshoot Building and Power Management Systems
• Conduct site surveys to assess project requirements and conditions
• Perform quality assurance testing to verify system integrity
• Guide and mentor other Energy Application Engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering
• 5+ years of experience in a related field
• Experience with MATLAB, SQL, and Python
• Advanced computer skills with proficiency in the MS Office Suite
• Travel required (0-25%), to internal office sites, client sites, or training locations
• Strong communication, interpersonal, coordination, and organizational abilities; capacity to multi-task

Compensation

The expected pay range for this position is $69,878 to $81,524 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and geographic location. Stark Tech expects to pay within this range at the time of hire, with final compensation determined by factors including experience, education, certifications, skills, internal equity, and market conditions.
