Job Description

Enbridge is hiring two Engineer in Training II - Operations Planning positions to support maintenance and capital projects with a focus on safe, reliable execution. Based in Duluth, MN (hybrid), this role partners with Operations, Project Execution, and Shared Services to connect engineering requirements with field reality through planning, verification, and documentation.

What you will do

  • Support outage planning and execution activities for maintenance and capital projects in collaboration with Project Execution and Operations teams.
  • Perform field verifications and collect technical documentation to align field conditions, engineering requirements, and project needs.
  • Assist with engineering work package development, including design reviews, tie-in planning, outage scoping, and work sequencing.
  • Provide technical support for project procurement, quality reviews, stakeholder communication, and routine issue resolution.
  • Support project closeout work such as drawing updates, records management, asset documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to Enbridge’s commitment to safety, integrity, inclusion, respect, high performance, and operational excellence.

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
  • 2+ years of related engineering experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and hydraulic modeling software.
  • Self-motivated and organized, able to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and deliver results across concurrent projects.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, including the ability to resolve complex issues and explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Working toward a Professional Engineer (PE) designation is preferred.

Work model, travel, and eligibility

  • Location: Duluth, MN (hybrid).
  • Employee type: Regular-Full time; non-union position.
  • Frequent travel of 20-25% to field excavations, industry committees/conferences, and other office locations is required.
  • Ability to travel and work throughout the United States, mainly the mid-Western states.
  • A valid driver’s license and a responsible driving record are required and will be validated before hire.
  • Not eligible for relocation or international relocation.
  • Not eligible for employment-based sponsorship now or in the future. Applicants must be legally authorized to work where the position is located without requiring sponsorship.

Compensation and timeline

  • Salary range: $85,000 - $105,000 USD per year for U.S. locations, based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
  • Posting end date: September 01, 2026.

Working conditions and requirements

  • Working conditions include an office environment.
  • Physical requirements include grasping, kneeling, light to moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, and visual requirements (including ability to see screens, detect color coding, and read fine print), plus hearing requirements and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
  • Mental requirements (field and office) include the ability to understand, remember, and apply instructions; understand complex problems and collaborate on alternative solutions; organize thoughts into understandable terminology; organize and prioritize work on a short-term basis; make decisions with moderate impact on the immediate work unit; understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines; complete routine forms; and compose letters.
