Job Description

Siemens Energy seeks a Gas Turbine Commissioning Engineer to lead field startup projects, oversee on-site activities, and support expansion of North America service operations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute gas turbine commissioning projects end to end, reviewing schedules and coordinating with project teams.
  • Lead field commissioning activities, bringing turbines online safely, efficiently, and to specification.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, mechanical, and control system issues during commissioning.
  • Create detailed commissioning plans, schedules, and test procedures to keep projects on track.
  • Conduct performance testing and system validation to verify equipment meets design and operating requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain commissioning documentation and handover manuals for clients.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison to clients, contractors, and internal teams, delivering clear updates and reports.
  • Mentor junior engineers, sharing expertise and promoting field best practices.
  • Manage projects independently and contribute to expanding North America service operations.
  • Lead on-site pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up of new gas turbine installations, ensuring safe and efficient execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in commissioning, start-up, and servicing of large-frame gas turbines.
  • Deep technical expertise across control systems, electrical and mechanical engineering, PLCs, and SCADA environments.
  • Ability to independently lead and execute complex commissioning projects with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and troubleshooting skills to diagnose issues and drive solutions.
  • Plan and manage project schedules, workflows, and QA/QC processes.
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders and mentor others through technical leadership.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship; internal transfers may be possible for Siemens Energy employees.
