Job Description

Alphident Technologies is seeking a remote GIS Solution Engineer/Developer to drive the implementation of an enterprise GIS architecture, automate deployment workflows, and build data pipelines and dashboards for healthcare claims analysis. The role centers on leveraging Esri, AWS, and Databricks to transform vast claims data into scalable spatial insights, spanning pre-production to production environments under a contract arrangement.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the approved enterprise GIS architecture in OIG pre-production and production environments; configure and fine-tune Esri and AWS components.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code scripts using Terraform, Python, and PowerShell to automate deployment and ongoing maintenance of GIS environments.
  • Build and optimize geospatial databases, services, and applications that support healthcare claims analysis.
  • Create automated geocoding scripts/tools for monthly data ingestion and billions of existing warehouse records using AWS Location Service, Esri tools, or Databricks.
  • Establish processes to convert tabular business information into spatial data and load it into the Enterprise Geodatabase.
  • Develop graph data pipelines representing entities (patients, providers, hospitals) and relationships from claims data to enable link analysis.
  • Embed geocoding and graph conversion steps into ETL pipelines or design standalone post-ingest processes.
  • Integrate ESRI GeoAnalytics Engine with Databricks for large-scale spatial processing.
  • Support the development of a GIS dashboard or Web-GIS application with charts, graphs, and maps for spatial claim data representation.
  • Assist in building a web-based graph data dashboard for link analysis of fraud, abuse, and waste networks.
  • Troubleshoot client issues related to Esri deployments, system architecture, and data integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Geography, or a related field.
  • 4–6 years of experience with Esri technology, including map creation, spatial analysis, and configuring web applications.
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and Infrastructure as Code practices.
  • Eligible for and able to maintain a Public Trust background clearance; must qualify for a government-issued ID badge (PIV).
  • Esri technology experience totaling around 5 years (required).
