Hotel Maintenance Engineer

Hotel Wave in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, onsite, seeks a Chief Engineer to maintain hotel facilities and ensure building systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. The position requires the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and troubleshoot a broad spectrum of maintenance issues across the property.

Responsibilities

• Execute routine maintenance and repairs across the property, covering HVAC, plumbing, electrical, guestroom fixtures, pool equipment, and electronic locking systems.
• Carry out quarterly preventative maintenance inspections in every guestroom.
• Diagnose equipment failures, determine root causes, and implement timely repairs.
• Install, repair, and fabricate components as required.
• Utilize testing tools such as multimeters and ohmmeters to diagnose and repair electrical systems.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and minimize equipment downtime.
• Coordinate with the General Manager and Housekeeping Manager to keep the hotel safe, functional, and guest-ready at all times.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company safety policies.
• Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and emergency repairs.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer, Hotel Maintenance Technician, or in a comparable maintenance role.
• Solid knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in diverse indoor and outdoor environments.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as required.
