Hotel Maintenance Engineer
Job Description
Scarlett Hotel Group is seeking a Shift Engineer to support the onsite operation of hotel building systems. This role focuses on maintaining safe, efficient, and comfortable conditions through inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and accurate maintenance documentation throughout the assigned shift.
Shift Engineering Responsibilities
- Complete routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, electrical equipment, plumbing, and other mechanical systems to maintain performance.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and hand tools.
- Perform welding, carpentry, painting, and other general interior maintenance tasks to uphold facility standards.
- Maintain facilities equipment including HVAC units, plumbing systems, electrical panels, and related mechanical devices through scheduled service or emergency response.
- Use programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for system monitoring and troubleshooting automation-related issues.
- Follow established safety protocols and document all maintenance activities in logs and reports.
- Coordinate with team members to support repairs, upgrades, or installations while delivering strong customer service to internal clients.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in facilities maintenance or building operations with a strong background in electrical work, HVAC repair, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Hands-on knowledge of schematics, wiring diagrams, and relevant technical manuals for building systems.
- Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment to support troubleshooting and repair work.
- Experience applying MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) procedures in commercial or residential environments.
- Ability to read technical schematics and understand PLC programming concepts for automation troubleshooting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge paired with experience working with HVAC systems, including repair and optimization efforts.
- Leadership capability to guide junior team members or apprentices when needed.
- Excellent communication skills in English for reporting issues and collaborating with colleagues.
Location and Compensation
This position is based onsite in Menomonee Falls, WI. Compensation is $20 per hour (USD).
