Lead Product Design Engineer
Job Description
Maverick Tech is hiring a Lead Product Design Engineer in Holland, MI for an onsite role. This position focuses on developing complex mechanical systems and translating early concepts into high-performance, manufacturable product solutions, supported by CAD modeling and simulation.
With 10+ years of product design and development experience, you will lead engineering design work from detailed 3D modeling through validation and production launch, while ensuring documentation and intellectual property are handled accurately throughout the product release lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Architect and refine detailed 3D models, layouts, and assembly drawings to satisfy performance and quality expectations.
- Lead cross-functional design reviews, using CAE and simulation data to validate product integrity and manufacturability.
- Drive continuous improvement by running cost-benefit analyses and applying Design for Manufacturing (DfM) best practices.
- Manage the end-to-end product release process, ensuring technical documentation and intellectual property are maintained correctly.
- Partner with internal teams and external collaborators to address complex engineering challenges and improve assembly efficiency.
- Mentor junior engineering staff by sharing best practices and supporting technical growth across the team.
- Support pre-production and launch activities on the manufacturing floor to confirm the design intent is executed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of professional experience in product design and development, preferably in the automotive or high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Expert proficiency in CAD software such as Siemens NX or CATIA, plus strong knowledge of GD&T standards.
- Demonstrated experience leading product launches and managing complex engineering programs.
- Strong analytical capability, including the ability to perform stack-up analysis and support simulation studies.

Compensation: USD 41 to 58 per hour.
Location: Holland, MI (onsite).
